An interesting read from David Hale and Paul Dehner of the Albany Herald. Dehner has a blog article up called "Rennie Curran for President" in which Rennie talks about the lack of defensive leadership this season.
I think that this another side affect of having Owens and Ellerbe out for the Bama game. Those are two of our biggest leaders. However, this is a fixable thing. Someone like Rennie simply needs to step up and start breaking his foot off in someone's ass when they screw up.
The Senator also has interesting comments up about this. Groo pins it on "The Yin of Evil Richt."
It'll be interesting to see how this develops.

Or anyone else for that matter. How do you see Curran's stay at UGA shaping up? The guy is a machine and great player, though undersized. Is there a possibility he leaves after his Junior year, or will be fortunate enough to have him for 2 more years? The thought of him leading our LBs for the next years makes me giddy.

IMO, his short stature will keep the NFL from pulling him out early. Plus the sense I get from Rennie is that he's serious about getting his degree. I know he can always get it after the fact but It seems to me he wants to graduate before he leaves.
That's great. We need that leadership at LB. He's only a sophomore and look at what he's doing.
That leadership, drive, and enthusiasm, like with Knowshaun, is contagious.
If it was just a football decision, Rennie would be gone as a mid-to-high draft pick after 3 years.
Since he is dedicated to getting his education, he'll be a 1st or 2nd round guy after 4 years.
A friend who went to HS and still keeps in contact with him said he recently became a father. I would assume the financial pressures will be something that weighs on his mind a lot, having a then-2 year old after his Junior year.
We'll see, but I can't fault him either way.
