Thank Heavens Cutcliffe is Gone

The Memphis Commercial appeal has a quick article up discussing the glee that must exist among the Georgia coaching staff regarding David Cutcliffe not sitting in the coach's box for this game. You think they are happy....you should see the dance I did when Duke hired him.

Speaking of the Vol Offense (Clawfense), the UT papers are full of stories around the progress of their QB, their coordinator and their quirky running back.So what are you expecting from the Vol offense this week?

Well, Paul I'm glad you asked. I think we're going to see much of what we saw from Alabama. With Ellerbe out I think they'll run up the middle more and they'll throw the little short passes. I mean why wouldn't they? Until we prove we can stop it that would be my game plan coming in. But with any luck CWM has been working on stopping this during the bye week.

I would second dean's observations. If they watched the Alabama film, they can see where we struggled. Tennessee's offensive line can give Georgia problems, so just line it up and run all three of those tailbacks at us and make us stop them.

I expect them to run it down our throats and beat us up on both lines of scrimmage. I expect UT to come into our house and manhandle us.

After watching the '92 UT vs UGA game last night on ESPN Classic I'm having nightmares about a Freshman quarterback stepping into his first big road game and having a coming out party. Helped along by a large number of turnovers or as has been the case this year penalties.

Is there a Pulpwood video out for this game?

darth scooter-

I was watching that same game last night (and was at the game when I was in school).

When I explained to my 7-year old son what was about to happen on that last drive, he looked at me and said "why would you want to watch that again"?

I turned the TV off right then.

Go Dawgs!!

Sounds like darryl strawberry is on the blow again.

"Sounds like darryl strawberry is on the blow again."

No, if that was the case i'd be talking about the dawgs putting on a whoopin.

I'm on the downers again. But after Bama, this team is going to have to show me some balls before i have any confidence whatsoever in their ability.

There are very few (if a ny)UT Viles that I like. However, Tee Martin just shot way up on my rankings.

In a conversation with Marc Weiszer of the ABH, Tee had this to say about living/working in UGA country ...

A: The last few years it’s been good when they (UT) win. They can say `You guys don’t look good.' But at least we can say `We beat Georgia last year.’ Georgia fans are great. I’ve always enjoyed Georgia fans. When I was in college, Quincy Carter and I were good friends. Sometimes during my off weeks I visited and went to Georgia games. In the offseason, I was in Athens a lot hanging out with those guys. Georgia fans are fine. They’re more respectable than Florida fans, I can tell you that.

Kudos to you Mr. Martin!

LOL - no surprise there. Birds of a feather and all. They both love illegal activity. Quincey had his weed, Tee had his payments from boosters.

Fans with rose colored glasses irk the hell out of me.

A lack of confidence does not lead to less passion for our dawgs.

It is amazing to me every year, how quickly "so called fans" jump off the band wagon when things get tough. And then jump right back on when things are going well. True fans don't talk smack about their own team! GO DAWGS!!

Nice irony here -

"...this team is going to have to show me some balls before i have any confidence whatsoever in their ability."

Waiting until the team is rolling to get behind them is quite the show of stones yourself.

Tennessee ALWAYS plays us tough in Athens. Here lately, it's because they are trying to save their coach's job. With all our injuries, this game scares me.

You guys are idiots. Nowhere in my comment does it say that i am NOT behind them.

PWD asked what we are expecting and I gave my opinion. I bleed red and black and have since the day i was born.

But i am going to say, "our boys are going to dominate" before every game even if i dont believe that? Hell no. This game worries me. And true fans are not afraid to admit that...

IF this team hasn't shown you something over the last 6-7 years, you, my friend, are HOPELESS.

Wow! If you have been a dawg fan "since you were born" then unless you are 10, you should know how lucky we have it. Get behind the dawgs or get out of the way! No room for a fair weather fan!!

I think Stephens may be able to put this team in contention, but there's no way we win without getting significant touches to Hardesty and Creer.
