Per ESPN.com, Boise State's Dan Hawkins is a candidate for the Colorado job. Personality wise, he would seem like a great fit. The Zen/Yoda philosophy stuff that he seems so interested in would play well in uber-crunchy Boulder.
But one wonders what happens when Hawkins' complete lack of defense hits the Big 12. If you can't outscheme people defensively in the WAC, how in the hell can you do it in an elite conference?
That said. If you paired Hawkins up with a great defensive guy with complete autonomy, you would have a pretty exciting tandem.

Doesn't the Big XII already have this all-offense/no defense team in Texas Tech? And didn't they just go 9-2 with a Cotton Bowl bid?
Texas Tech is 9-2 because they played 1 ranked team this year. And lost to them.
The Big 12 is horrific this year.
If Hawkins does swing the job at CU, and I see no reason why he shouldn't, that would give him the chance to become the first-ever coach to get blown out at Sanford Stadium in consecutive years with two different teams -- remember, the Buffs come to Athens in '06.
