DAWG OF STEEL!
Congrats to Hines Ward, Super Bowl XL MVP, and the 2006 World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
The skinny QB from Forest Park, Georgia turned running back turned wide receiver turned QB turned wide receiver turned Western Pennsylvania Legend now stands with football immortals like Starr, Namath, Staubach, Terry Bradshaw and Terrell Davis as Super Bowl MVP.
A huge Go Dawgs and Congrats to all three Georgia Bulldog Super Bowl Champs including Verron Haynes and Arnold Harrison who were on the Steelers active roster for this one.

Jake Scott and Terrel Davis are other UGA MVP's...Richard Dent and Deion Branch are both GA boys...
I heard on the radio this morning that UGA is the first school to have three Super Bowl MVP's. Jake Scott, TD, and now Hines Ward.
A Damn Fine Dawg and one of my top five all time favorites.
I second everything that's been said. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy or a more devoted team player.
The biggest thing I hate about Hines Ward is that there is nothing I really hate about Hines Ward.
At least I had the whole repressed homosexual tendencies for Greene and Pollack
Sans fear. We feared him when he was a wee guy whizzing through the Florida defense on tunnel screens; we love him now that we can root for him as he blocks defensive ends on the crackback. A beast.
I hate to be picky but last night I was watching the SB with about 10 other Dawgs and we were all shocked to hear Hines Ward introduce himself as "Hines Ward, Forest Park, GA."
Was anyone else a little ill at this? It's minor I know, but when we're finally breaking into the national scene recruiting, we need all the help we can get. I understand he probably wants to rep his hometown, and I also know that Hines is UGA to the core, but on a global stage like that, we need "Hines Ward, University of Georgia."
Again, picky, but you know what I mean.
Is there someone that appoints one dawg fan to nitpick Hines for the Forest Park thing or are there that many UGA fans that have nothing better to write. Heck if I was Hines I would be PO'ed by the much to do about absolutely nothing.
lots of whining and sniping about it on message boards.
I didn't think it was a big deal. His entire career he has said "University of Georgia" until this game.
Some players never name their school. They are proud of their home towns.
Jermaine Wiggins has never said "UGA". He's always said East Boston
I'm actually quite over it now. The little thing called "hangover" kind of made me mad at the world.
All that being said, I still wished he would've picked a Sunday 12:00 game against the Ravens to say it...
But no big deal. We'll still tell every recruit on his behalf. It's no big deal and I even admitted it was picky. So calm down 69Dawg...no one's peeing in your cornflakes.
Go Steel-Dawgs.
