Pollack was taken off the field on a stretcher early in the game. He was placed on injured reserve Monday and will miss the rest of the season.PWD
Guanciale, director of orthopedic spinal surgery at the University of Cincinnati Hospital, told the Web site that Pollack's "fracture was mild to moderate. His neurological status is normal. He has no spinal-cord involvement or injury."
The article said Pollack was released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
The second-year player from Georgia will wear a protective halo for 12 weeks, undergoing exams and X-rays to determine treatment.
"As I talked to Dave, [wife] Lindsey and his family," Guanciale said, "there is a possibility he will have to have surgery in a few months."

I'm in Cincinnati. He's doing as well as you can hope for. "moderate" fracture. 12 weeks in the halo. Great chance of recovery. This makes a very rocky start to Pollack's pro career even rockier.
