Derek Dooley to Head Coach Lousiana Tech

ESPN.com is reporting that the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs will name Derek Dooley as their head coach at a press conference on Monday. Derek is obviously Vince's son. His undergrad degree is from UVA and his law degree is from Georgia. He served on Saban's staff at LSU for 5 years and on his staff with the Dolphins for two years among other stops.

Congrats to a guy with a lifetime of UGA and Clarke Central ties. With UGA still having openings for Tier 2 non-conference opponents in 2008 and beyond, don't be shocked to see us add La. Tech to one of those slots. I'd personally love to see that.

Check out this great profile on Derek from NFLHS.com. It talks about Derek's time at Clarke Central and at UVA. Good read.

LaTechSports.com confirms the Story.
