Georgia Preview from a Bama Blogger

The fine folks at RollBamaRoll are working their way through the SEC as they preview each team. Their preview of the Georgia Bulldogs is now online complete with point-counterpoint from Georgia Bloggers Kyle King and Doug Gillett. As for my take on Georgia? It's hard to know what to make of the 2007 Dawgs. My season overview and predictions are coming soon. Nothing groundbreaking...just some thoughts.

By the way -- if you need Georgia vs. Alabama tickets, try checking out Stubhub.com. They've got some premium seats available. Granted, they're at premium prices, but it's something to consider.

About Kyle’s response to the “best case scenario” question: It has always been a fact, when referring to the SEC vs. other conferences, that SEC teams seem to beat up on / massacre one another all season long; whereas your Michigan's and USC's play padded schedules in "lackluster" conferences (yet seem to mount #1’s / #2’s up all through the season). Personally I hold no merit in the BCS championship (the popularity contest) anymore; I hold all stock in the SEC championship. If UGA pulls out a trip and a win in ATL, then I am happy with as happy with the season as if they won “it all” (although I wouldn’t be upset with a BCS championship visit either, lol). There have been plenty of cases where 13 - 0 / 12 - 1 SEC teams have not even been considered for a BCS championship berth.

But back to the question at hand…

RollBamaRoll actually did a good job of going through the team, and the season. I was also very glad to see that Bama fans see the O line issue as less of an “Achilles heal”; and more of a question mark. Some of these JUCO transfers that are, yes, unknown; are some really big nasty guys from Georgia Military college who are hungry. On a quick side note: Whatever happened to the beast Vince Vance? I know that he was injured in the spring (maybe); but I have heard much from him since then…. I am actually getting excited to see this beast of a man play ball.
