UGA Practice Notes

Chip Towers has a nice profile piece on Dannell Ellerbe, UGA's middle linebacker. In the article Coach Janeck (line backers) says that Ellerbe's move to MLB from WLB was less about Brandon Miller's performance than what Ellerbe did to take the job. Per the article:
The decision to start Ellerbe at what is essentially the quarterback position on the defense had more to do with what he was doing than what Miller was not. "Brandon did a great job at [middle linebacker]," Jancek said. "It really had more to do with Dannell's comfort level there. He's taken right to it and had a great camp."
That's good news. However, it doesn't make me feel any better about having Miller at SAM linebacker given how few plays he's made there over the past three years. Oh well. Trust the coaches I guess.

Speaking of middle linebacker, Carter Strickland has an interview with Marcus Washington. Strickland's article also has depth chart updates at several positions.
