Sportsline projects UGA vs. Michigan in the CapitalOne Bowl.

Personally, as long as we don't play Purdue or Wisconsin in the Outback or CapitalOne, I'm pretty open minded. My SEC, ACC and other interesting bowls of note predictions are below.
Bowls | Week 5 |
National Title | USC vs. LSU |
Rose | Ohio State vs. Cal |
Orange | Boston College vs. USF |
Fiesta | Oklahoma vs. West Virginia |
Sugar | Wisconsin vs. Virginia Tech |
CapitalOne | Florida vs. Michigan |
Outback | Georgia vs. Michigan State |
Cotton | Arkansas vs. Texas |
Peach | Auburn vs. Clemson |
Music City | UK vs. UVA |
Liberty | UT vs. UCF |
Independence | Alabama vs. Texas A&M |
Texas Bowl | South Carolina vs. East Carolina |
Gator | Nebraska vs. Miami |
Champ Sports | FSU vs. Penn State |
Meineke | GT vs. Rutgers |
Emerald | Maryland vs. UCLA |
Boise | Wake vs. Boise |
Holiday | Kansas State vs. Oregon |
Sun | Louisville vs. Arizona State |
Alamo | Purdue vs. Missouri |
Insight | Illinois vs. Colorado |
Agree? Disagree?
Update: Several questions in the comments along the lines of "Why not 2 SEC teams in the BCS?" Here's my logic.
- -- I don't think UF can beat LSU. I also don't think that UK or SC will win the East. If UF wins the East, they won't make the BCS with three losses. If UGA won the East, I think we'd have two SEC losses and do it via tie breakers. I also don't think we can beat LSU. No three loss SEC team is making the BCS.
-- USF even as an at-large should logically sell a ton of tickets to the Orange. If Boston College wins the ACC, they'll almost have to have an in state team in the game to sell tickets because BC doesn't travel. Period.
-- WVU travels like crazy. Even if they don't win the Big East, they would still be an attractive draw for the BCS.

I don't think that the Big East will get two teams into the BCS, same with the Big Televen. I'm not sure who slots into those spots, but I'd figure one of those for the SEC. Perhaps the other slot goes to an 'at-large' selection, a-la a miracle Hawaii bid.
My guess -
NTG: USC v LSU
Rose: Ohio St v Cal
Orange: BC v WVU (I think USF screws up somewhere down the line)
Fiesta: Oklahoma v Hawaii
Sugar: UK/UF/UGA/USC/Whomever loses to LSU in the title game v VaTech/FSU/whomever loses the ACC pillow fight
Please note, these fearless predictions are based on my years of watching the BCS completely hose teams for almost a decade. Somehow, they'll screw the whole thing up as usual.
No way do we get a team into the National Championship and not have another at-large bid.
You really think the Big East, Big Ten and ACC will all get 2 teams and we wont? No way.
my predictions:
NC: Cal v LSU
Rose: Ohio St v USC
Orange: Oklahoma v USF
Fiesta: BC v Hawaii
Sugar: DAWGS v Wisonsin
I have no clue what i am talking about. Nor do i know which conferences go with which bowls, now that theyve screwed that all up.
But, what i do know is, Cal will beat USC and be undefeated heading into the National Championship.
Big East & ACC getting the 2 at-large spots?
That would suck to play meatchicken. What would happen to our program if loss?? Ewwww
Mark it down, UK will go to the outback bowl provided it wins two more games.
I've understtod that the guy who runs the outback bowl is a kentucky alum and would move a slightly more deserving SEC team out of the way to get the 'Cats there.
NTG: LSU vs. Ohio State
Rose: Cal vs. Wisconsin
Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Hawaii
Sugar: USC vs. Florida
Orange: USF vs. BC
Georgia in the CapOne vs. Michigan
no way a 3 loss Florida team makes a BCS Bowl game.
Yeah that's the last spot I filled in. I like the rest of my picks a lot though.
Don't forget that because the MNC is at the Sugar Bowl site, the actual Sugar Bowl gets the last pick and is pretty much going to pick who every they want to since their revenues are guaranteed via the MNC game. My guess is they'll look at who's available and pick who they think will best travel, even if it is a 3 loss UF.
Anybody but Purdue! Jeez PU....
A 3 loss Florida team could make a BCS at large if two of those losses to LSU are close and LSU has smoked everyone else on their schedule. However, with the way this season is going, crazy stuff keeps happening so it wouldn't shock me for the Gators to beat LSU this weekend and then lose to UGA or the Gamecocks later. And so on...
Anyway... would love to see Alabama vs. Texas A&M.
