This and That

Some randomness for the day:
-- The Baseball Team is playing lights out. They beat the hell out of Arizona in a 3 game sweep. They return to Athens to feast on cupcakes until the SEC Schedule starts. Three games with 'Zona plus midseason games vs. Tech (3) and Clemson (2) should still give the Diamond Dawgs enough strength of schedule star power. The freshmen are amazing.

-- Sunday was Souvenir Lay-Up Day at Bud Walton Arena. Apparently, the first 500 fans were able to shoot one uncontested layup against our team's defense. The biggest thing our next coach will have to fix (other than wicked talent gaps and non-nonsensical recruiting decisions) is the appetite for The Quit.

-- As we told you several months ago (complete with on site pictures of the taping from the NYC Dawgs), Herschel is on The Apprentice.

-- By the way, I'm going to publish my ranking of the dream candidates for the basketball coaching opening complete with high-level comments on their relative strengths and weaknesses. That should start to trickle in this week. (Note: Dream Candidates is the wrong word. It's more of a list of candidates that I'd be excited about)

Off topic, but I got some great shots of Sanford and campus during yesterday's snow in Athens:

Paul, looks like the baseball squad has replaced 2 major stars from last years team successfully. Hope CMR is taking notes. I know it is early in the baseball season, but I have not scene any comments about the equipment change. The power numbers appears to be improved from a year ago. Have you had a chance to catch a game at Foley yet?
