Nothing like a post stating the obvious.

Not too sure what anon. 5:35 is referencing, but I think that our coaching staff and current team are doing a fine job of that themselves! We have a staff (CWM, CMB, CJF AND CMR) that appear to have their head in the sand. Why does it appear that we are unable to correct our faults? Kickoff coverage, kickoffs, lack of running game, poor defense (granted, much better against the last ranked offense in the SEC), incosistant offense. These are the issues that our nagging our fans and football program. I find myself asking the same question that I asked last season: Is it lack of talent or coaching? Last season I chalked up to injuries. Now I am only left with coaching. Time to coach up what we have! Man up Dawgs!

Is anyone aware that, statisticly speaking, the Vols rank higher in offense with Crompton than we do? Total offense UT = 376 Dawgs = 340.
Scoring Offense UT = 29.4 Dawgs = 27.2. How about defense? Scoring Defense Vols = 19.4 Dawgs = 27.8!
Every year CWM has been DC we have seen our defense give up more points than the year before. 2005 = 16.4, 2006 = 17.6, 2007 = 20.2,
2008 = 24.5! We are on pace to give up 27 points a game this freakin' year! I would not blame the AJC for tearing our fanbase apart. I would blame the coaching staff for that job!

I don't know why but that picture made me laugh out loud, Dawgnoxious.

Also, I'm thrilled a commenter is finally on to the AJC's nefarious agenda!

I think some of the difference in offensive stats lies with the teams UGA and TN have played. Remove the WKU game from those and see what the avg are.

I wonder how many people will pay to see TTU. I am betting it will only be shut-ins, those who think it is THE Tech game or those who think it is the Tennessee game.

I think you nailed it, Sam.

I like those "Fun Five Challenges" the AJC has. The hard ones are too damn hard though; I mean, Photoshop my ass. They're just being tricky on purpose. Buttons? Buttons?? Find the 5 different buttons among 700? BS, AJC, BS.

Stats, you like stats? Only one stat matters...the SEC record.

I do like stats. How 'bout this stat for ya: 2 SEC losses last year (plus that great Gay Tech game), 1 already this year. Scoring D in the SEC, 11 of out 12 (Arkansas is worse than we are). Total D, 11 out of 12. Total offense, 10 out of 12. Rushing O, 12 of 12. Passing D, 11 out of 12. Penalties, 11 out of 12! I see great coaching in those stats! Great job staff! Oh, thank goodness we have Drew Butler! We do rank #1 in punting with a 42.3 yard average! At least we can hang our hat on that!

To quote Dan Devine, head coach of Notre Dame, when told by the media that his Irish team had better game stats than Georgia after losing the 1980 national championship game:

"Statistics are for losers."
