ACC Announces Bowl Partnerships for 2010-2013

They are adding the Sun Bowl and Independence Bowl to their mix (Source: ACC). The pecking order goes as follows:
    1. FedEx Orange Bowl vs. BCS Team
    2. Chick-Fil-A Bowl vs. SEC
    3. Champ Sports Bowl vs. Big East or ND
    4. Brut Sun Bowl (ACC Title Game Runner-Up or #4 Pick) vs. Pac 10
    5. Meineke Car Care Bowl vs. Big East
    6. Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl vs. SEC
    7. Advocare 100 Independence Bowl vs. MWC
    8. Eagle Bank Bowl vs. CUSA ('10), Navy ('11), Army ('12) and Big 12 ('13)
    9. Emerald Bowl (conditional: if the Emerald doesn't have enough teams)
Moving the Boise and Emerald Bowls out in favor of the Sun and Independence is an upgrade for their fans.

Ah, the ACC. Upgrading to Shreveport. It's about time.

Peach Bowl gets #2 pick from the ACC. In years the SEC gets 2 BCS teams, they will essentially be playing the #6 SEC team, unless they upgrade. BCS1, BCS2, Cap One, Outback, Cotton, then the Peach Picks. Should be interesting.

Shreveport is a push with Boise. El Paso, TX and the Sun Bowl can't hold San Francisco's jockstrap.

The move makes sense from a geographical standpoint, but certainly not from a venue point-of-view.

Got a feeling we might be in store for the Richt Bowl II.

I hope the SEC secures the Tecmo Bowl. I can coach the HELL out of that, so surely Ric-n-co can too.

I've been in meetings all day, so I'm just getting caught up. Please excuse my back to back comments on the back to back posts.

+1 Andy. Top 5 game of all time. Fond memories of wasted hours with the Chicago Bears or Oakland Raiders. Or being the Giants so I could block extra points every time.

Not that it really matters, but what does it mean saying Army and Navy in the Eagle Bank Bowl? What if they don't become bowl eligible in those years?
