SEC East Predictions

I'm a bear. A big scary orange bear

1. Tennessee (6-2/10-3/West Division) - I think Cal will give UT a solid game...unlike last year...but a win? They won't give away enough megaphones to make that happen. I don't think the Vols are that solid, but the schedule works out so nice for them. They avoid Auburn and LSU this year while getting UGA and SC at home. Prediction: Vols win East.

2. Georgia (5-2/9-3) - I said a few days ago that I think 9 wins is par. If we get past these first two games without a loss given the issues at OL, WR, DE and LB, I'll feel a heap different. Prediction: No matter what happens in Weeks 1-7, I think we beat the Gators in Week 8.

3. UF (5-3/9-3) - The schedule is brutal. The defense is gutted, and they're starting a new QB. No, I don't think they repeat. Yes, I do think the pollsters who had them at #3 are high. Prediction: they make it four in a row over the Noles in the Swamp as the young guys come around late in the season.

4. SC (4-4/8-4) - Conference road schedule includes games at Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas and LSU. The Gamecocks could have their best team since the 10-2 season in '84, and they might still only win 8 games. Prediction: Pencil the LSU, Tennessee and Florida games as losses. Gamecocks split UGA and Arkansas.

5. UK (3-5/7-4) - I had this article sort of written yesterday. In it, I had Louisville getting upset by UK in Lexington. Surely, Lville wouldn't be comfortable in their new offense...right? Then they put 73 on Murray State. But I'm sticking to my pre-seeing the score projection.

6. Vandy - Outside shot at a bowl, but that would come at the expense of Ole Miss, UK, and Wake Forest. Prediction: Home for the holidays. As per usual.

Upset Alert:
  • Oklahoma State at Georgia
  • UK vs. Tennessee
  • Florida at South Carolina
  • South Carolina at UNC
  • Vandy vs. Wake
Agree? Disagree?
