Pulpwood on Tennessee

As always, it's most certainly not safe for work. Although, he makes great points on Mrs. Kiffin.

My week is now complete...

Time to shake off last week... GO DAWGS!

all school said...

you have to admit, Kiffin may be a dope, but he did a heck of a recruiting job on Mrs. Kiffin. We should all overachieve that much in that area.

I think Ed Orgeron is going to eat the hood of a Camry tomorrow to fire up the troops. It probably won't help, but it should be entertaining to watch him belching up paint chips for the rest of the day.

SCdawg said...

PWD, how can you see these from past weeks? there freakin hilarious!!

Rick said...

LOL this reminds me of one of a funny quote said after Lane Kiffin introduced his wife as a press conference after he got the UT job:

"According to many Shelley Meyer was the previous hottest SEC coach's wife. Now she's second... at best. Thanks to Layla Kiffin dunking on her from the free-throw line while excuting a 360 at the press conference yesterday."

Rick said...

oops messed up the sentence up there. Grammar police don't yell at me!

Will said...

Isn't eating the hood of a car how Orgeron starts every Saturday?

Skeptic Dawg said...

While still funny, Pulpwood is much funnier when we actually have a good team! Keep up the great work Pulpwood!

[That was out of line. I'm just ready to smash heads tomorrow.]

What does the grammar police have to think about "dawgs"? I've always wondered as much. . .

GO DAWGS!! WHIP THOSE ORANGE CREAMSICLES SENSELESS!

I'm about to listen to Pulpwood.

Hobnail_Boot said...

Can Pulpwood coach special teams?

RedCrake said...

He could at least give the pre-game speech.

Clearly we need it.

Anonymous said...

Props to Pulpwood for showing restraint with the use of the catch phrase.

JaxJay said...

Wow...Johnathon Crompton is amazing, I don't know how he hasn't dominated all the other SEC defenses...oh now I remember, they don't have Willie Martinez.

Andy said...

WTF is going on?

Anonymous said...

We're making the worst QB in the conference look like a damn pro! Incredible.

Hobnail_Boot said...

PWD, you might want to go ahead and turn off the comments.

This is gonna be UGLY.

Andy said...

Touchdown Tennessee! Yes, turn them off, f'ing turn them off right now. This sucks.

Anonymous said...

Just logging on to third the motion to turn comments off now. And fire Willie before you do.

Andy said...

And tell the Redcoats to put a cork in it also.

Unknown said...

4th on the no comments. Crompton looks all pro today. But we are a "young" team, and show a lot of promise next year after we beat Iowa State in a bowl game eh?

Carlton said...

get rid of richt while we're at it....lousy.

Will said...

Ugh. 5th on turning the comments off.

Anonymous said...

Fire Willie! He is making Crompton look like an All American.
Saying this before comments are turned off.

Rick said...

Embarrassing...

We're getting out-coached once again. So so embarrassing...

SSI_Bulldawg said...

We have now made three QB's that are not good (two of which are poor at best, one of which is (was) the laughing stock of the SEC) look "all pro." Willie, I'm sending you an invoice for this season. Please pay, or tender your resignation. I do not agree with calling for people's heads when things are not going well, but we are allowing mediocre teams look "all pro" against us. (I'm not even going to mention the fact that our offense has only put up 3 points. UT's D has proven to be legit)

Anonymous said...

Oh God. Please make it stop.

Rick said...

Wow we suck. Can someone make a tackle please? Can we do SOMETHING on offense please? I've stopped watching. I'm going to hang myself now.

Wade Wilson said...

How many times are we going to fall the for the play-action, roll-out pass to the opposite side? What is our defensive coordinator doing? I've seen this play about 8 times and it's worked every time.

Dawgsopinion said...

you gotta love that only our defense can make Compton look like Heisman candidate. Willie has to go and Bobo needs to change something up this is the second week our offense could not do anything. Bench Cox and let someone else play

Andy said...

A change has to happen. This game must send a message - something has got to change. Tennessee was due, Crompton was due, blah. This game better be a wake-up call, and this stuff has got to stop. Enough already.

Dawgfan said...

Willie needs to be fired ASAP!!

Jman781 said...

I don't even know what to say. This is the worst UGA team that I have seen in quite sometime. They look more like a bad Kentucky team. How long will we put up with this? What excuses will Richt conjure up this time? Maybe we can be in the final Independance Bowl!

Andy said...

Wade, you're right - it's like a freaking video game.

Dawgsopinion said...

the way we are playing right now we might not even make a bowl game. This is the worst I have ever seen UGA play

Rick said...

Maybe it's just the wind...

Will said...

Make the pain stop. Please.

Rick said...

Wow another turnover...
How much worse can this get?

Andy said...

Teen Wolf Berry strikes again. Brilliant.

Rick said...

Back judge 30 yards away calls a pass interference in the endzone when there were 3 other refs within 10 yards of the play and they saw nothing. I f**ken love it.

Andy said...

Last!

Anonymous said...

I'm pretty sure Bobo is just an idiot. One win 12 years ago doesn't mean we have to retain him. He has let Eric Berry dictate what he was going to call. Why in the hell is he throwing screen passes to AJ our best deep threat receiver? No passes to AJ beyond 20 yards. This is awful.

Beyond that with the struggles they've had w/ the running game today why do they keep running the fullback in the back field. Its time to realize you need to put speed back there instead of settling for (at most) a 10 yard gain.

Andy said...

Logan?

Anonymous said...

Anon 3:16PM

I'm too drunk to log in, so this has to be an Anon post. But Anon 3:16, at this point I would love a 10 yard gain.

I don't know what to ask for here. But please, let's not overreact with regards to our head coach. Willie maybe, Bobo maybe, but not Richt.

Anonymous said...

We have freakish athletic talent. Example: K/O returns. We have speed. But, we don't have coaches that teach them what to do. Or maybe they teach them, but don't punish them for not listening. Example: Catching and attempting to return a punt on the 2. That is just simple football. There is a hard and fast rule that you are taught: Don't catch the ball within 10 yards of the endzone. If you do catch it, fair catch it. That comes down to coaching.

Anonymous said...

How you can be too drunk? I was just thinking "at least it was an early one, and I'm not even buzzed yet." Can I come to your house?

Dawgsopinion said...

I agree Richt is fine, but he needs to do something about Willie ASAP or it is going to cost him his job. Bobo also might need to go i can usually tell what play we are going to run before we run it. if I can do this so can every other DC.

Rick said...

I don't blame you, if I had liquor here I'd be drunk too.

Dawgsopinion said...

How do yo let Compton have a career game against us. I almost wish this was in Athens so our coaches could here the Boos they would be getting

Rick said...

On the bright side, I think this loss is SOOOOO bad that the UT fans are too busy cheering to come to this site...

How bad will Florida beat us this year? It's going to be uglier than this.

Anonymous said...

I can't believe I have to say this, but I appreciate the mercy being shown by kiffin here.

Anonymous said...

Start drinking at the first three and out, and drink (mostly) Maker's and Coke.

Also, watching the game with a Florida fan friend will pretty much spell intoxication.

Yes, Florida fans can be both civil and friendly on a few rare exceptions. Like Mega Millions winners rare.

Screw Tebow though. Geaux Tigers.

I know UGA's problems are systemic, from the offensive playcalls to the lack of effective tackling. But honestly, as someone who only has experience at football at the high school level: I cannot effectively give advice as to how we should fix this. It would be exceptionally easy to call for the head of an assistant (I think I might have done that earlier in the comments and I apologize), but I hope someone in the organization can fix this.

God bless and GO DAWGS!

Andy said...

Florida? What about Vandy next week? They've one of the worst offenses in the conference, but it wouldn't surprise me to seem them run/pass all over us.

Rick said...

So this means that the SEC East race comes down to Florida and SOUTH CAROLINA??!!???

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Andy said...

Nothing sucks like a big red bowl of dog shit.

Sam, Dawg Fan said...

OMG, I cannot believe what I am seeing. Bring in Derek Dooley!

Carter said...

Either Richt makes the changes volunatarily after the Tech game, or AD Evans can do it for him. If Richt refuses, then I suggest he walks away from his contract.

I always have been a Richt fan and will continue to be until I see what changes he makes at the end of the season.

However, my loyalty is first to the University and second to the program. A coach is simply a caretaker for our program. Coaches can have my confidence and my respect. Until they don't. The next few months will determine that for me.

Smitty said...

Welcome to the 90's guys. Back to having a few stars and a lot of holes unfortunetly.

Anonymous said...

Get your comments in quick cause they will be taken down shortly. You can bet on that.

Hobnail_Boot said...

Bottom line for me:

Our coaches aren't putting our players in a position to win.

Take that for what it's worth.

Andy said...

It feels a lot like the 90s, it does. Except I'm not daydreaming in class, but instead working M-F to watch us get blown out, again.

Dawgfan said...

This is the worst GA team I have seen since Goff years. I'm so depressed!

Carter said...

PWD:

Please leave the comments up. Nothing we could say would be more vulgar or offensive than the product on the field.

If we have ever earned the right to speak our minds freely, I would say this is such an occasion.

Andy said...

Just heard CMR's post-game thoughts, and it's the same ole X/O stuff. I would like to hear something evil, something to start a fire. But, no. You know?

Anonymous said...

he pretty much said "Well we made adjustments to what Tennessee was doing and then they changed their play calling and it beat us."

Ya got out coached, Richt.

Smitty said...

Bobo was schooled today. He would not have an OC job in the SEC if it wasn't for Richt. Just keep running those sweeps to the short side until you are at Tallahasse JUCO.

Skeptic Dawg said...

I state this several weeks ago: Hello, again, Goff era! WTF? I am tired of Evans poor tackling and being out of position. Notice, he was not in the game after his second, # friggin' 2, poor tackle! If CWM is as good as Richt claims, he will have no problem finding a job after this season! Who know, maybe he and Bobo can reunite somewhere else down the line! STEP UP CMR!!! Glad to see we could validate yet another team/coach! Crompton is a QB god!

Unknown said...

After all of the special teams talk, just imagine... They saved us from a blow out. Three friggin' offensive points?!?!?!? AND Crompton has a career day? What the hell is going on here? I live 100 miles from Knoxville and I am going to have to listen to their crap for 12 mos. Thanks Willie & Bobo...

Andy said...

Crompton will be the number one draft pick next year. You watch and see.

goalinestalker said...

Thats 80 pts the last 2 trips to Knoxville....wth? I have been a company man since CMR took the job however after today WM has to clean out his office now! Call ahead and the custodian get a head start. That was by far the saddest attempt of playing D in the last 30 yrs I've been following UGA. At least the Barners got blown out!

Andy said...

And Walsh's kickoff to open the game - I screamed and hollered. I was all hell yes. So, he's told what to do, but if he can kick it in or out of the endzone, do it, right?

Hunkering Hank said...

Do you think we can get Donnan back?

I think Willie is gone after this game no matter what - really. This team is ready for nothing on defense.

The offense is terrible. How 'bout we throw the ball to #8.

Jman781 said...

Wow. The comments are going up as fast as points against our defense!

Rick said...

Why are we having the same conversation every week? Somebody do something!

Wade Wilson said...

Guys, it's my fault. After the Ok St. loss, I bought my dogs Georgia shirts that they wore for 3 straight saturdays. I forgot to have them wear their shirts last week and this week. I'm sorry.

Unknown said...

This UT loss is just so frustrating. If we did not have talented kids, so be it. We have the #1 receiver in the nation (Dez is a thug who can't wait to go to the NFL to join the other thugs), speed on offense, speed on defense, and our O&DC's ride the short bus to the games... And they look so calm on the sidelines when we getting our tails kicked! Hold our players accountable! Get angry! Play with passion! Go out there and want it more than the other team! And if the players don't respond to that than put it someone that does want it. Wake up UGA!!!

Anonymous said...

So this is how it feels to be the laughingstock of the SEC

Anonymous said...

Its always Fire Martinez, but we as fans need to start the Hire Kirby Smart bandwagon. He is only 5 games into the head job at Alabama, but if he is good enough for Saban he is good enough for UGA.

Hire Kirby Smart!
Hire Kirby Smart!
Hire Kirby Smart!
Hire Kirby Smart!

RedStripeDawg said...

I've had enough! Rarely do I post my opinion on my site. Well, here is my ramble!!

45-19, What Has Happened To Georgia?

Andy said...

RedStripe, I didn't know that was you. That is - and I'm being honest, I mean it - the first UGA site I bookmarked back in the day. Call me dumb, but I didn't know that was you. Damn good job at sicemdawgs.com!

Johnny Blaze said...

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm watching Alabama play and it's beautiful to watch. Great coaching on all sides of the ball.

We have comparable talent to Alabama yet we're nowhere near their level.

Makes me ill.

Muckbeast said...

What's the over-under on the number of minutes until comments are turned off?

And if comments are NOT turned off, is that the final indicator that there are NO FANS LEFT who support this coaching staff?

Russ Fortson said...

Well, we can't blame Willie. I mean Tennessee kept pretending to go one way and then actually going the other way! That's just sneaky! What do they call plays like that? I've never seen such trickery, and obviously Willie hasn't either.

The rest of this season isn't going to be pretty.

Andy said...

45-19. I keep hearing that over and over again. It's starting to become funny. This sucks, BIG TIME. How do we even get fired-up about Vanderbilt?

Muckbeast said...

Yeah Russ, that's not fair at all.

Anonymous said...

We might be the only team in the SEC going in the wrong direction

Andy said...

Finally. Cox comes on the air and speaks the truth. I'll give him +300 props for that. Gimme some truth, all I want is the truth.

Anonymous said...

Lennon or not, it's time for CMR to get Helter Skelter on this program. Watching Bama on the road, they're coming out like Led Zeppelin on steroids. We showed up like John Denver in a coma, and we didn't even crash the plane.

Anonymous said...

Enough is enough, It's becoming painful to watch this football team. Painful.

80dawg said...

Well, all th talk is over Kiffin and crompton lit us up. Guys we did not bounce back from last week.

It is not just Willie! This is a total break down all the way around. Can someone explain to me how in the hell our D stayed in the #4 team in the nation's backfield all day long and had the game they had today.

The offense was abysmal! Holy have mercy this is going to be a long year. I think CMR is a fine man, a really good man, but we have to hold him accountable for this type of loss. It is the head coach's job to get a team up and past these games. Think it thru guys, we did not win an SEC championship with Stafford or Knowshon. Geez we could fall to Vandy. I am usually the last holdout, but this business is serious. We were embarrased today. I know TN is better than most folks think, but this was horrible.

Finally, a monkey with a Black man's voice, just saying.....

Andy said...

If we play like we did today, we will fall to Vandy. There's no arguing that. We have to make changes. GATA in practice or something. We will not beat Vanderbilt if the team that showed up today shows up next Saturday. That's sad to say, but that's where we're at.

Massey said...

80Dawg...

I feel the same way. I just think that all of the remaining teams are looking at us thinking, "hmm...play action roll-out...check....no pressure on QB....check..."

It's tough to admit this, but we all know that we are not on the level with Alabama, Florida, Texas, USC, etc. We are close, but as all of you know COACHING makes that distinction...our talent IS THERE....

Will said...

Bobo should be demoted back to QB if not outright given the boot. While there are some decent to top-shelf candidates for a Willie replacement, who would be a worthwhile person to go after for a replacement OC?

Our athletics dept. is top 5 in profit, let's put that to a massive assistant coaching staff upgrade.

Jman781 said...

You know why the comments haven't been turned off? Normally, if you read through the comments you get a lot of over the top posts that are laced with expletives.

Unfortunately, no one is stooping to that level, for we all know that this is a serious problem that may not be fixed anytime soon, and there is no space for mindless, crazed rants. PWD and crew usually defend the coaching staff, but at this point, there is nothing that can be said that isn't true. What's sad is that none of us reading these posts would be shocked if Vandy won next week. No one.

While am not advocating firing Richt, it may be necessary to make the needed changes. Richt HAS to fire a few of these guys; he just has no choice. If he chooses loyalty over common sense, then he needs to go. I would hate for this team to decline because a coach is more interested in keeping his principles. We need Evil Richt more than ever before...

He will not fire anyone mid-season, we know that. But changes must be made in the off-season, and this will be a very interesting one, indeed.

Massey said...

In repeating the theme I've read a couple of times on here and to give an explanation for it; the reason why there aren't any UT fans on here bashing us and rubbing in the thumping is that
(1) They know how we feel (2) No need to rub it in when the score is 45-19. That speaks for itself. That speaks volumes...

The difference is they did something about their coaching problems. I justhope we are careful what we wish for.

Anonymous said...

Last time we were 3-3, was 1996. My God.

Anonymous said...

Richt has lost 3 of last 4 to UT. A UT that has been a struggling up and down program since Casey Clausen left.

Our guys really aren't that talented. We have 1 bonafide NFL player on offense, with Boling be a strong possibility. On D, we have 3 (Geno, Jeff, Rennie). Maybe some of the youth later develops into talent, but I'm not seeing that on defense.

You have to question Garner and/or Richt's approach at recruiting. These guys might look good as Juniors, but they're not panning out. The magazines don't know how to evaluate. They base "stars" on which school is offering.

We have problems all over. But it needs to b noted that we have fallen off in talent

Inspector G said...

Anon 7:45,

Recruiting is fine. We get guys every year that all of these other big name schools want (Orson Charles, Branden Smith, etc)...

I understand what you're saying, but recruiting is, still is, and will remain (I hope) in the top 10 each year.

When kids like Marlon Brown turn down a car to come play here, that's speaks volumes

S.A.W.B. said...

The playcalling the last two seasons reminds me of the Donnan years, and that's a bad thing.

For those of you who forgot, or are too blessedly drunk to remember, it went something like this:

Patrick Pass to the right, can't turn the corner, 1 yard gain.

Patrick Pass to the left, can't turn the corner, 1 yard gain.

Quincy over/underthrows his intended receiver, and, punt.

Repeat, ad nauseam.

Defensively, we seem way too vanilla for the SEC. I don't recall any corner/safety blitzes today, or anything that anyone would consider 'exotic'.

Standard 4-3 zone isn't going to cut it in the SEC these days. Something has to give, and it has to give soon.
